The Marvels

As anticipated, Disney/Marvel’s The Marvels debuted with the lowest start for a Disney MCU title worldwide and internationally, reaping an estimated $110.3M in its global launch. The movie earned $63.3M from international markets across 51 territories and $47M domestically.

While The Marvels claimed the top spot in all major markets, Universal’s Five Nights at Freddy’s had a strong showing in France. Other local contenders, like Tiger 3 in India, also impacted the box office scenario.

The film faced a challenging reception in China, receiving mixed responses from critics. Despite leading there with $11.7M, the Douban score of 5.4 didn’t quite bolster its performance. The UK, Indonesia, Korea, and France followed suit in their respective box office earnings.

In IMAX, The Marvels managed to gross $10M globally, with $3.6M coming from offshore screenings.

Meanwhile, Tiger 3 in India is kicking off for the Diwali holiday and is expected to perform well over the coming week.

In the world of holdovers, Five Nights at Freddy’s witnessed a 62% decline but continued to hold its ground, accumulating another $15.4M in the international box office. It has surpassed Smile offshore and has gained traction in numerous key markets.

Killers of the Flower Moon by Martin Scorsese observed a slight drop of 47% across 65 offshore markets, accumulating $6M, elevating its international cume to $77.2M and a global total of $137.1M.

Major markets for Killers of the Flower Moon include the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, with each contributing to its overall international performance.
