Sharp Roku

Sharp has re-entered the US television market with the launch of its new Roku OLED 4K UHD TV featuring HDR10, alongside an LCD 4K UHD TV. The OLED models, incorporating the renowned AQUOS TV branding, symbolizing “cutting-edge technology and quality,” also signify the debut of the built-in Roku experience on OLED 4K TVs for Sharp.

Available in 55″ Class and 65″ Class screen sizes, the new Sharp Roku TV OLED 4K televisions boast Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos technologies, promising an immersive viewing experience. Jim Sanduski, President of Sharp Home Electronics Company of America, expressed excitement about collaborating with Roku to re-establish a presence in the highly competitive US television market.

The OLED TVs support 4K at 120Hz, featuring four HDMI ports, one eARC port, two USB-C ports, AV input, and Optical S/PDIF Output. Sharp’s LCD models, available in sizes ranging from 50″ to 75″, complement the lineup.

Equipped with the Roku system, users can access hundreds of free linear TV streaming channels, utilize a smartphone app to navigate content seamlessly, and more. The Sharp Roku TV OLED 4K starts at $1,899.99, with a $400 launch discount on Sharp’s website. The LCD counterpart, beginning at $429.99 for the 50-inch model, also includes a $90 discount offer.

In the midst of these television launches, Roku announced its latest OS 12.5 update last month, bringing enhancements in sports and live TV, content recommendations, music playlists, Roku Photo Streams, and additional features. This strategic collaboration between Sharp and Roku aims to provide consumers with a comprehensive entertainment experience.
