Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child Of Fire

Netflix has unveiled the full trailer for Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child Of Fire, following Sofia Boutella’s Kora as she rallies a team to ignite a revolution.

The film, debuting on the streaming platform on December 22, takes audiences on a journey to a distant moon in the farthest reaches of the universe. The logline teases, “After crash landing on this moon, Kora, a stranger with an enigmatic past, finds herself among a tranquil settlement of farmers. However, her peaceful existence is threatened when the tyrannical Regent Balisarius and his ruthless emissary, Admiral Noble, discover the farmers’ unwitting deal with the insurgent group, the Bloodaxes, led by Cleopatra Coleman and Ray Fisher — posing a danger to the entire settlement.”

Assigned with the task of assembling a group of brave fighters to defend Veldt’s people, Kora, alongside the tenderhearted farmer Gunnar, embarks on a quest across different worlds to recruit the Bloodaxes. Along the way, they gather a band of warriors seeking redemption, including a pilot and gun for hire, Kai; the esteemed commander, General Titus; a master swordswoman, Nemesis; a captive with a royal past, Tarak; and a resistance fighter, Milius. Meanwhile, an ancient mechanized protector named Jimmy, voiced by Anthony Hopkins, reawakens with a newfound purpose. The newly formed revolutionaries must learn to trust each other and unite before the forces of the Motherworld threaten to obliterate them all.

Snyder helms this sci-fi adventure and co-writes with Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten.

Joining Boutella in the cast are Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Charlie Hunnam, and Anthony Hopkins as the voice of “Jimmy.” The ensemble also features Staz Nair, Fra Fee, Cleopatra Coleman, Stuart Martin, Ingvar Sigurðsson, Alfonso Herrera, Cary Elwes, Rhian Rees, E. Duffy, Jena Malone, Sky Yang, Charlotte Maggi, and Corey Stoll.

Producing the film series are Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Eric Newman, and Wesley Coller, with executive producers Bergen Swanson, Sarah Bowen, Shay Hatten, and Kurt Johnstad.

And if you can’t wait for more, mark your calendars: the sequel, Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver, is set to drop on April 19, 2024.
